This review applies to version 0.1 The latest version of this software will soon be reviewed by our informers.

If Super Mario Bros was one of your favorite games during your childhood, then I'm sure you will enjoy playing SuperTux, an excellent 2D game very similar to the famous plumber game, but where Tux (Linux's pet) is the main character.

Penny, a friend of Tux, was captured by Nolok (the arch enemy of Tux) and carried to its fortress, but Tux is determined to save his beloved Penny, and then his journey starts.

On each level you will find many objects similar to Super Mario Bros game; for example, you will be able to jump and hit question boxes where fire flowers will appear and will give you the power to throw fire balls against your enemies. Also coins, stars, Tux Dolls, and eggs will be available. And talking about enemies, most, but not all of the easier enemies can easily be knocked out by jumping on their head, the same way like Super Mario Bros.

There are at least twenty-seven levels and nine different enemies. And with the possibility to edit or create your own levels with a level editor, you will find that SuperTux is a good choice to remember and have fun moments in front of your PC.

Definitely, SuperTux is a game for both, adults who want to remember their childhood and children alike.
Advantages
  • Very similar to Super Mario Bros.
